Gotu Kola can be consumed in a gentle decoction. Best when used over a consistent period.
You may create potent synergies with other adaptogenic herbs traditionally used for intellect and vitality, such as Brahmi, Celastrus Seeds (the "Intellect Seeds"), and Rhodiola.

This method ensures a gentle and effective decoction every time.

Ingredients:

  • A handful of Gotu Kola leaves
  • 1L of water

Instructions:

  1. Add a handful of Gotu Kola leaves to 1L of water.
  2. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
  3. Allow it to simmer gently for 15-20 minutes, or until the brew becomes colored and flavorful..
  4. Strain the leaves and pour the decoction into a cup.
  5. Enjoy your Gotu Kola tea hot, or let it cool for a refreshing drink.

The leaves can be reused up to three times before composting.

Consumption Advice:

For optimal benefits, it is best to use Gotu Kola regularly, consuming it over 7 to 21 consecutive days. This allows the herb to fully infuse its adaptogenic properties into your system.

Gotu Kola is best consumed in the morning to support overall vitality throughout the day.

When not to use?

  • If you have liver disease or are taking medications that affect the liver, as Gotu Kola can exacerbate liver issues.
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, as its safety in these conditions is not well-studied.

  • If you are on diuretics or sedatives, as it can interact with these medications.

Our Gotu Kola leaves are organically cultivated in Northern India by a long-established, family-owned business. We met our Indian supplier, Amit, during our travels. Amit is highly knowledgeable in Ayurvedic Medicine and is also a marvelous Ayurvedic cook.

Although our Gotu Kola is grown in a completely natural environment without the use of any chemicals, it does not have European Organic certification.
