History
Used mainly by the Khoïkhoï tribe of South Africa, Kanna originally grew in a small region called Channaland. Kanna is considered in Africa as a powerful plant to great the spiritual realm, to clear the mind and the senses, and to restore one’s passion for life!
This fascinating root was used by warriors of Channaland returning from battle, they consumed Kanna to dispel fear and traumatic memories, by chewing on the root and letting it sit in their mouth. It was also used by shepherds who travelled long distances in arid areas.
Kanna is traditionally used in synergy with other South African plants such as Klip Dagga and Imphepho.

Infusion:
The most potent way to use Kanna is as an infusion.
- Use 1g or about 1/2 teaspoon of finely shredded Kanna for one cup of hot water.
- Infuse for 10-12 minutes, then strain.
- The same Kanna can be reused up to 3 times, increasing the infusion time to 15 minutes
- Kanna may be powerful for some users. You may start with a lower dose if you are generally sensitive to the effects of herbal infusions.

Smoking:
