Amazing herb. When I take it I feel extremely relaxed with more awake consciousness and that night after taking it I dreamed very intensely that I plunged into a Rainbow in the cosmos then became this Rainbow and married the Eternity. I was dancing in the cosmos all this after having died, having experienced my own childbirth, having seen myself being born in a room invaded by a white and blurry Light. My whole soul trembled in the dream and I rediscovered true ecstasy. All this after a trip to a somewhat magical island. I woke up and I heard the birds louder than usual. Bobinana is a gentle plant teacher if you can get into it. I've been drinking it as a tea for a few days and it's already triggered feelings in me that I've tried to close behind a door inside myself. With the necessary mindfulness, this plant helps to create a connection with the heart. I recommend making the tea with chamomile, this can help digest the emerging emotions more easily. Even as incense, it envelops possible stagnant emotions in a caring arrival. The quality of the herbs delivered is excellent and the arrival of my order arrived abroad much faster than expected. I have no comparison to the quality, but on the first night I had dreams for the first time in a long time. I let 300ml of water steep for 10 minutes, like drinking tea. Is there a more intensive way of preparing it? The flowers were also ‘TOP’ Many many thanks.

What is bobinsana?
Bobinsana (Calliandra angustifolia) is a small tree of the Amazonian riverbanks with pink-and-white powder-puff flowers, one of the master plants of the healers of the Peruvian Amazon (Luna 1984). For the House, she is the Daughter of the Tree of Light and the Mermaid of the River, the plant of the heart, received as a gentle cure or in a dieta. INFUSE offers her leaves, a bark and leaf powder mix, and the elixir, wild-harvested in Peru.
What are the traditional uses of bobinsana?
In the Peruvian Amazon, she is a master plant: she is received in a dieta, and she "teaches medicine" to the one who keeps the diet (Luna 1984). She is also added to ayahuasca (Beyer 2009; Rätsch 2005). In the living tradition, as it is passed on in Peru today, she is the plant of the heart, the one that accompanies after heartbreak or separation.
How do I prepare bobinsana?
Three ways depending on the form. Whole leaves — 1 to 2 teaspoons in infusion 5-10 min in simmering water. Bark + leaves powder mix — 1 to 2 teaspoons in a cup of warm plant milk or simmering water (gentle decoction 10 minutes for more potency). Elixir — 5 to 15 drops under the tongue or in a warm drink. One to three times a day depending on intention.
What is the bobinsana dieta?
A dieta is the way a master plant is received: a period of withdrawal, a plain diet without salt, sugar, fat, alcohol or sex, and the plant taken every day. Traditional dietas can last for weeks or months, under the guidance of a healer. At INFUSE we share it over 7 to 21 days, with a journal open.
Bobinsana and ayahuasca?
Bobinsana is one of the plants most often taken before or after an ayahuasca ceremony — she deepens the cardiac dimension during the opening, reduces emotional defensiveness, and helps the integration of difficult contents in the following days. Rätsch and Beyer also document her among the admixtures that some mestizo shamans add to the brew. Many discover her through this bridge, then return to her for her own value.
Bobinsana or Ajo Sacha, in which order?
In our practice, Ajo Sacha often comes first to clear the ground, then Bobinsana, after a pause, for the heart. It is the House's way of doing it; each plant can also be received on its own.
Which form of bobinsana should I choose?
For the gentle daily cure and the evening companionship, the whole leaves in infusion. For the concentrated decoction, the framed dieta, and serious ritual work, the bark + leaves powder mix (more potent). For a precise ceremonial use or quick uptake, the elixir by the drop. The three carry the same plant.
Does bobinsana have precautions?
Yes. To avoid during pregnancy, desire of pregnancy (traditionally reputed contraceptive) and breastfeeding. Medical advice recommended under treatment, particularly cardiac (possible interactions). To avoid in case of Fabaceae allergy (pea family). The long dieta requires a frame — never in autonomy without experienced accompaniment.
Is bobinsana psychoactive? Is it legal?
She gives no visions: she works gently, layer after layer, on the heart and the dream. Her pharmacology is still to be mapped. She is freely sold in France and the European Union.

The plant
Bobinsana is Calliandra angustifolia Spruce ex Benth., a small tree of the Fabaceae (Mimosoideae) that grows along the rivers and in the floodplain forests (várzea) of the western Amazon: Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador, Colombia, Brazil. Her flowers are pink-and-white powder puffs, a burst of fine stamens that seems made of spray. She loves water: she roots on the banks where the river rises and falls back each year. These riverside ecosystems are under pressure from deforestation, which makes the way she is harvested a real question.
◆ The documented tradition
In the Peruvian Amazon, bobinsana belongs to the *plantas maestras*, the plant teachers. The anthropologist Luis Eduardo Luna worked with four mestizo healers (vegetalistas) in Iquitos, and bobinsana appears among the plant teachers they named — plants that "teach medicine" to the one who keeps their dieta, and that are also added to ayahuasca (Luna 1984, Journal of Ethnopharmacology, citing Soukup 1970). Luna adds that some plant teachers teach only through dreams, without saying which ones.
Stephan Beyer (Singing to the Plants, pp. 291-292) and Christian Rätsch (The Encyclopedia of Psychoactive Plants, pp. 708-709) both list bobinsana among the plants that accompany ayahuasca. Many people discover her this way, taken in the days before or after a ceremony, and come back to her for her own sake.

A dieta is the way a plant teacher is received: a period of withdrawal, a plain diet without salt, sugar, fat, alcohol or sex, and the plant taken every day, so that it can teach. Traditional dietas can last for weeks or months. The way we share it at INFUSE is gentler: *"Best to use on a 7 to 21-day diet to fully infuse in the magical vibration of Bobinsana."* The invitation that goes with it: to call upon the spirit of the plant while preparing and drinking it, to keep a journal, and to "pay attention to the shifts in your dreams and life aspirations as you progress on this journey."

The Daughter of the Tree of Light and the Mermaid of the River belong to the living lore of the plant, as she is sung about today in Peru and in the healing centres of the Amazon; the written ethnography does not record these images. What the dreamers tell us is simpler, and it counts: "on the first night I had dreams for the first time in a long time" (Jasmine, 2024).

Our bobinsana is wild-harvested with respect in Peru. Our supplier commits to always replanting more than he takes, and works with a registered cooperative in Peru. The plant is harvested on request, so it reaches you as fresh as possible.
Safety and gesture
When not to use: avoid during pregnancy, if you are planning a pregnancy (she is traditionally used as a contraceptive), and while breastfeeding. If you take any medication, especially for the heart, ask your doctor first, as interactions are possible. Do not use if you are allergic to plants of the pea family (Fabaceae).
The house gesture: 1 to 2 teaspoons per serving. As a decoction (the strongest), simmer gently for about 10 minutes and strain. As a tea (softer), steep in water at about 90 °C for 6 to 8 minutes, and re-use the plant at least twice. As a tincture, a few drops in a glass of water or juice. The taste is mild and earthy, with a slightly bitter undertone. Then a pause after each cycle of intention.
